PUSH TO DOCK.

Cleatline is a remotely controlled device that will quickly attach or detach a boat from one or more points on a dock, allowing you to cast off or dock your boat without the need for another crew member.

How It Works

How It Works

1. Captain engages device from the control panel.

The control panel, located at the helm, will have the ability to control both port and starboard side devices. A flip of the switch will engage the deivce to extend and locate the cleat.

2. Telescopic arm extends & locates the cleat.

The arm is threaded with a cable. Th purpose of the telescopic arm is to guide the cable to a docking cleat or mooring. It does not provide any connection between the docing point and the boat. The arm is maneuvered by servos. The cable acts as a dcok line and is for tensile strength.

3. Cleat capture device comes in contact with target.

Sensors locate the dock cleat and close around it.

4. Cable retracts to pull the boat in.

The cable, which is attached to the end of the cleat capture device, slowly pulls the boat to a predetermined distance to the dock, which is monitored by a guidance system of sensors. If the boat is close in, no adjustment is made. The guidance of the cable, telescopic arm, and actuation of the cleat capture device are fully automatic.

Revolutionary.

For thousands of years, docking a boat has relied on using lines and ropes to secure a boat to a cleat. Only now does the techonology required to make this process fully-automatic exist.

Discover Technology

Technology

Identification, tracking, and guidance with absolute precision is possible through existing technology. The hardware, algorithms, code, and programming ahve been developed by the Cleatline team over a three-year period.

Wireless Operation

Cleatline's control panel has only a few easily identifiable switches. Signals to the device are transmitted wirelessly or via a portable handheld transmitter. Wireless control will allow the product to be easily retrofitted to existing vessels irrespective of age.

We are seeking a sophisticated partner to commercialize this product.

Behind the Invention.

A team of individuals who share a passion for boating and being on the water.

Ira Nachem

Inventor & Business Professional

Ira is the primary force behind the idea and development of Cleatline. His idea originated after a near mishap while docking his new boat that caused his father-in-law to fall into the Long Island Sound.

While several patented docking devices exist, none fulfill what Ira is seeking: a product that is truly autonomous, allowing one to dock and cast off a vessel without any human intervention.

The technology required to build such a device did not exist when those patents were filed. However, over the past 5 years, robotics, AI, and fabrication methods have made huge strides, allowing Cleatline to be readily aseembled and programmed today.
